Hand & Wrist Pain

Functional hands and wrists help us perform a wide variety of actions in everyday life: from opening doors to writing to playing music and more! Though we often take them for granted, our hands and wrists are a very important aspect of who we are, how we see ourselves, and how we communicate. Dysfunction in the hand and wrist can result in pain, problems with coordination (like grasping and pinching), unpleasant sensations, and functional deficits that can markedly decrease your quality of life.

Some conditions we treat:

  • Hand and wrist sprains
  • Wrist bone injuries
  • Hand bone injuries
  • Dislocation recovery
  • Tendonitis
  • Baseball Finger
  • Boutonniere Deformity
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Loss of range of motion

Because many hand and wrist problems are the results of injury, we will work closely with your physician (if applicable) to help you heal and recover.

Treatment Options

Because the hands and wrists are incredibly complex structures, we’ll start with expert movement analysis to help us get to the root of the problem. Our physical therapists have years of medical training in movement analysis as well as years of experience in examining and treating hand and wrist problems. One of our therapists will analyze your movements, paying close attention to your range of motion, any pain or unpleasant sensations you might be experiencing, strength, dexterity, and more. This will help us pinpoint the cause of the problem so that we can offer effective solutions. Additionally, we’ll use your movement analysis as a baseline to measure future progress (which can really help if you’re feeling frustrated down the road).

Once we’ve completed our movement analysis, we’ll draw up a comprehensive treatment plan to help you with your hand and wrist pain or dysfunction. Your plan will address pain, weakness, and limits to your range of motion, with the goal being to return function, strength, and mobility to your hand and wrist (as well as your shoulder or elbow if they are involved in the issue. In addition, we’ll develop a specialized home exercise program that will help you progress and keep the gains you’re making.

I was referred to Teton Therapy by my healthcare system and was immediately impressed by the time and attention I was given for treatment. Kenny and Ashton handled most of my therapy, but the entire staff was amazing. Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. After several weeks of treatment, I noticed a marked improvement in mobility and range of motion. Would definitely recommend this facility for anyone looking for a good PT!
